I believe that the "what we're giving up in terms of usability" is a vast over-statement. Right now, we have one complete implementation of C++20, and two in-flight implementations and people are already busy in doom predictions 😊

What's important here is not what I "request", but what we're giving up in
terms of usability compared to what works today.

I'm mostly in the skyscraper business, but we generally want C++ features
to have wide accessibility and not be limited to those building skyscrapers.
