That's the intent.

You are exagerating, nobody is "complaining". The opposite is actually
happening. This feature found wide support in WG14's meeting last
week, and now Martin is asking if C++ would be willing to add that
feature, too.

And he is doing this on the liaison list, which is the perfect place
to ask such questions.

Let's try to make this list a better experience than usual by actually
listening to each other.
