I was just listening to CppCast where they were discussing SIMD, and it was
mentioned in passing that SG6 is looking into fixed point arithmetic.

I believe this could have some interest in SG14 (especially regarding the
conversation last time about finance and int64_t, and general applicability
in the microcontroller space)

Does anyone have any connection with SG6 (i would think maybe Guy
Davidson?, but perhaps also others) and could tell if they are currently
working on a proposal.
If they are, I think it would be good to spar with them on this as early as
possible.
