I could equally argue that I have some library where updating to anything above C++14 is a problem in my case. In that case we can all just pack up, updating the standard is pointless, what are we even doing on this mailing list?

We can just edit the rest out, and right there we have an excellent
summary of the arguments of the proponents of this facility,
both now and a decade ago. It was pointed back then by vendors citing
use cases of people different from today that the uses
Gasper depicted in this discussion are a problem for #pragma once, and
nothing has changed since.
