Bjarne informed us on the original reflector where this was circulated that it should not go public on the Web or somesuch, as he did not get permission from his students for that; it's meant for our consumption and reflection.

Cheers!

Objet : Re: [SG20] SG20 Digest, Vol 9, Issue 1

I generally like the idea of seeking to discover what students know and do not know in creative ways that make students look objectively at their respective knowledge base. It is an approach I tend to follow when trying to learn something new. I pick the smallest book / article that I can find (from an authoritative source) that aims to provide a big picture overview of the topic and I write down what I didn't know before reading the material. The points that I write down become my areas for deep-dive.

Is there any chance that Bjarne's document that was referenced will be shared in this group?

Each year I give a homework assignment to get me some information to help
me decide what and how to teach in a "Design using C++" course.

See attached.

For those of you who don't deal with students or people outside the C++
community, this information might be useful.

PLEASE DON?T SHARE THIS OUTSIDE THE COMMITTEE

This is the language section; the standard-library section should be ready
over the weekend.

Comments are of course welcome.
