Daylight savings time (DST) changes went into effect in North America (NA) today, but do not do so for Europe until March 27th.
As currently scheduled, the next SG16 telecon, on March 23rd, would take place an hour later than our last one for NA residents and at the same time for European residents. The following one, on April 13th, would be an hour later for everyone.
At some point in the past, we had decided to schedule relative to
UTC year round. There have recently been opinions expressed that
scheduling for a consistent time relative to the meeting host's
local timezone (EST5EDT4 in our case) would be preferred. I would
like to switch to the latter starting with our next meeting. I am
personally motivated by meeting at the earlier time and I imagine
this would be preferred for attendees from CET as well (the
meeting start time would be 7:30pm instead of 8:30pm local time).
Please complete the following Doodle poll to express your
preferences for the next two meetings. I'll interpret choices
expressed for the April 13th date as a time of day preference for
future meetings as well.
Please feel free to reply with any further thoughts.
Tom.
