I worked out why I was confused. British Summer Time ends next Sunday. However, last Sunday I adjusted the time on my thermostat by 1 hour. It turns out that I was adjusting it *from* GMT *to* Summer Time, not the other way round.

Sorry for wasting everybody’s time.
