We will be discussing the following papers:
P2423R0 (https://wg21.link/p2423r0) C Floating Point Study Group Liaison Report
Informative session discussing what floating-pointed related changes
from TS 18661 are expected to be in C23 and the future aspirations for
the TS moving forward.
P2314R2 (https://wg21.link/p2314r2) Character sets and encodings
Proposes to change C++ to use the "Model C" approach to
universal-character-names from C99 and introduce a new term of art to
describe literal text encodings. The author is looking for feedback on
the proposal, especially feedback on whether new incompatibilities
with C are being introduced by the changes to handling universal
character names.
P2378R0 (https://wg21.link/p2378r0) Properly define blocks as part of
the grammar
This proposal primarily targets WG14 by introducing a new, formal
grammar production to represent a block of statements. The proposal is
not expected to have impact on existing code, but is intended to
improve the readability of the standard as a refactoring. The authors
are looking for feedback on the proposal, especially if there are
concerns about surprising breakage or compatibility issues with C++.
Thanks!
